The Third Man

The Third Man, the story is in Vienna , Austria , and after the War II. The main character was Holly Martins. He was American and visited Vienna to see his friends, Harry Lime. Lime asked Martins to work, so Martins went to Vienna happily without the cent because he was broke in the U.S.
Martins arrived at Vienna and went to Lime’s flat. He climbed the flat and there was a porter sang in German on the floor. He knocked the door and the response was nothing. He heard the porter that Lime was died by an accident and was gone 10 minutes ago.
Martins walks through a cemetery. A group of mourners are gathered for a funeral. Martins approaches Calloway, one of the mourners.
Martins asked Calloway about Lime. After funeral, they went to bar and were having drinks. Martins told him about Lime, he is his best friend, and Martins had see him last September, 1939. Calloway talked Martins about Lime, he said that Lime was the worst racketeer that ever made a dirty living in the city. Calloway said murder was part of his racket. Martins could not believed that Lime was the worst racketeer and murder was part of his racket. Martins suspected Calloway that he was not going to close your file at a dead man's expense. Martins decided to inspect the accident.
Martins and Paine, who Martins met in the bar, entered the hotel. Paine carried Martin's bag as Martins held his handkerchief to his mouth. Hertman passed by and went to the front desk.
Holly Martins was famous writer in Vienna , so Paine knew him. Paine and Crabbin had be delighted to have Martins. Martins told them about Harry Lime and why he went to Vienna . And he suspected that Calloway that he was not going to close your file at a dead man's expense. Martins decided to inspect the accident.
Martins promise to Kurtz. Kurtz approached the cafe carrying a copy of Oklahoma Kid. Martins saw him from inside the cafe and went out to greet him. Kurtz was the best friend of Lime except Martins. They talked about Lime's accident. The police have a crazy notion that he was mixed up in some sort of racket, however, everyone in Vienna was same. They sold cigarettes and that kind of things. Kurtz told Martins, he have done things that would have seemed unthinkable before the war. Once when I was hard up, I sold some tires on the black market. Kurtz was with Lime when Lime died by the accident. Martins asked him to help Martins, however, Kurtz said “I wish I could, but you know, I am Austrian. I have to be careful with the police. I am afraid I cannot help you, except advice.” And he explained the situation at the time.
Martins and Kurtz stepped out onto the road. Kurtz said “Lime died here. He went to cross, and from up there came the truck.” Lime thought you even at the end. Lime asked him looking after Martins to got home safety. Calloway said Lime died instantaneously; however, actually, he died before the ambulance could reach us.
Martins looked for the person who can help him.
At the night, Martins went to the theater and met Anna, who went to the funeral of Lime. He asked her about Lime. He did not get it. All of them there. This Romanian, Popescu, his own driver knocking him over, his own doctor was just passing by. No strangers there at all.
Anna and the porter told him that Lime was quite dead, instantaneously. While they were talking, he was noticed by the porter that the third man, he was not doctor, and Kurtz. The third man did not give evidence. Martins suspected the third man.
